“My 17 years old daughter and I have enjoyed our hike in Colca Canyon. Really nice hike, spectacular view. And lot of great memories! Our guide was Rafael and he was amazing. He shared a lot of interesting information about the region, culture, social topics in Peru as he did about fruits, plants or tree we seen during the hike. “A couple of us in the group had heat realted sickness at first day of hiking. Our tour guide was super helpful to get us through the day. We chosed the mule ride for the next days's ascending hike. Mule operators did not seem understand that some of us were first time mule/horse riders. My foots was not adjusted to the foot cups before took off. After I screamed the mule guide stopped to put my foots in but he did not audjusted the position of side strips ( I have short legs), so my foots kept coming off the foot cups. We got picked up at 3am and he didn’t even say hello introduce himself until 2 hours into the van ride. Someone asked to go to the toilet and he reluctantly stopped and made her go out the back of the van and suggested for everyone not to drink too much water….not quite the safety message before hiking into the heat of the colca canyon. I know you have to cater for everyone in the group….14 in the group, you also have to be aware of the different abilities…..this he didn’t do. I just…”
