“Sopie, our tour guide, was super energetic and in a great mood throughout the trip. The drivers were also really sweet and competent, too. As for the volcano, it's... weird. There were a lot of people, but we expected that. Still, the whole experience felt more like an open-air performance, with very strategically placed visual cues. What was truly disturbing, though, was seeing mine workers in poor condition, working through the night. If that’s real, and not just part of the "spectacle," then it’s a serious human rights issue. Amnesty International should definitely take action, because the conditions those workers are in seem completely unacceptable.”
